Meet Tabby, the cat who finishes your sentences
Finish your sentence in almost any app on your Mac.
Grey suggestions after your cursor in Gmail, Claude, Slack, Notes and most other apps. Press tab to keep one. The model runs on your Mac, so what you type stays there.
20 accepted suggestions a day. No card and no key.
Needs a Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 26 or later, and Apple Intelligence turned on.
Suggested from the email above.
It reads the conversation you are in.
Suggestions use what is on screen around the field: the email you are answering, the chat above your message, the quoted original under a reply. So they can use the real name, number or time.

Tom chased invoice 4471.
Hi Tom, apologies for the delay on invoice 4471.
Same model, same words, without what is on screen: processing.
Suggestions and “without” lines are actual output from the on-device model in our tests, with the greeting on its own line. The examples are illustrations. It is a small model and results vary, so read a suggestion before you accept it.
Three keys, and settings if you want them.
Settings cover suggestion length, how long it waits after you stop typing, which key accepts, how the ghost text looks, and which apps it stays out of.
- Accept the whole suggestion.
- Accept one word at a time.
- Dismiss it, or just keep typing.
Press a key, or the grey text.
As long as it needs to be.
A search box gets a word or two. An email gets the rest of the thought. It aims to stop at a natural break, not on a dangling “the”.
- Search boxes
- 1–3 words
- Subject lines and titles

- Chat
- 1–4 words
- 2–8 words
- Prompts to an AI

Typical limits. Suggestions run shorter early in a message, in greetings and in lists, and can be a single word.
None of your text leaves your Mac.
An app that can read what you type should be clear about it. Read the full privacy notice.
Hi Ravi, sure, I’ll send the
Apple’s on-device model
numbers and the churn breakdown
What it reads
- The text before your cursor in the field you are typing in.
- Up to 800 characters of text around that field, plus the text after your cursor. You can turn this off.
- Held in memory, cleared when you click or switch apps. Never written to disk.
What it skips
- Password fields and anything under macOS Secure Input.
- Common password managers and terminals, by default.
- Name, address, phone, card and one-time code fields, when their label says so. It can miss one, so you can add any app to the list.
- The contents of other form fields on the page.
What leaves your Mac
- None of your text. Suggestions come from Apple’s on-device model.
- On Free, nothing at all. If you had a plan and its key is still in the app, that key is checked about once a day until you remove it.
- On a paid plan, your license details, sent to Dodo Payments to activate and then to check your plan: about once a day on Monthly, about once a week on One-time.
- The app has no analytics.
Start free, keep going if you like it.

Questions, answered.
Will it run on my Mac?
It needs a Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 26 or later, and Apple Intelligence turned on, which uses up to 14 GB of disk. Intel Macs are not supported. Apple Intelligence is not available everywhere, including mainland China, and your Mac and Siri language must be one it supports. Please check this before you buy, since the app depends on Apple’s model.
Is there a free version?
Yes. Free is $0 with no card and no key: 20 accepted suggestions a day, the same on-device model, and nothing leaves your Mac. If you buy a paid plan and it is not for you, email [email protected] within 7 days of your first payment and we will refund you.
Monthly or one-time?
Both give you unlimited suggestions for local use, on one Mac at a time. Monthly is $4.99 a month and you can cancel anytime. One-time is $24, about 5 months of Monthly, and you pay once. Monthly needs to check in online at least every 14 days. One-time keeps working offline for good. Prices include tax.
What happens when a plan ends?
The app goes back to Free on that Mac. It keeps working, with 20 accepted suggestions a day.
Does it work in every app?
Most, but not all. It relies on apps sharing their text with macOS through Accessibility, and a few do not. In those it can fall back on the keys you typed since your last click or Return, kept in memory only, and you can turn that off.
How good are the suggestions?
Useful, not perfect. Apple’s on-device model is small, so it can guess a detail wrong or suggest nothing. It works best in English, and a suggestion usually takes a little under a second to appear, sometimes longer.
Why does it ask for Accessibility access?
That is the macOS permission that lets an app read the text field you are in and show a suggestion next to your cursor. It also uses it to notice when you pause and to catch Tab and Esc while a suggestion is showing.
Does it need the internet?
Free never goes online. Paid plans need a connection once, to activate. After that, Monthly checks your plan about once a day, and if it cannot confirm it for 14 days the Mac goes back to Free until it can. One-time checks about once a week when you are online and keeps working offline for good. If a plan has ended, the app re-checks its old key about once a day, until you remove the key.
Why is it not on the Mac App Store?
App Store apps must run in a sandbox, and the sandbox does not allow the Accessibility access this app is built on. The download is signed with our Developer ID and notarized, so macOS opens it normally.
Try it on your next sentence.
