Common questions
How does the free trial work?
Gobblr Premium is free to try. Nothing is charged during the trial, and cancelling before it ends costs you nothing.
How do I cancel?
Open Settings on your device, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and choose Gobblr. Apple bills every subscription, so cancellations and refunds go through Apple rather than through us.
I already subscribed, but the app is still asking me to.
Tap Restore on the paywall. That re-checks your Apple Account for an existing subscription. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on.
Do my meals sync between iPhone and iPad?
Yes, through your own private iCloud account. Both devices need to be signed into the same Apple Account with iCloud switched on. Your meals never pass through a server of ours, so we cannot see them, and we cannot recover them for you either.
I was given lifetime access. How do I turn it on?
On the paywall, open Been given lifetime access?, copy the identifier shown there, and email it to us. Once it is enabled, tap Check again on that same screen.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app clears everything held on that device. To remove the synced copy as well, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, and delete Gobblr's data.
A meal's nutrition looks wrong.
The numbers that ship with Gobblr are sensible estimates for a home cooked portion, meant for planning rather than clinical tracking. Every value is editable, so open the meal and set it to match the way you actually cook.
Where the numbers come from
Every calorie and gram in Gobblr is an estimate for one typical home cooked portion, not a measurement of the food on your plate. The same list is in the app, behind the info button on the Meals tab.
Per meal figures
Rounded estimates for a typical home portion. To compare a dish against measured values, look it up in FoodData Central (U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service) or in the Indian Food Composition Tables 2017 (ICMR National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad).
Calories worked out from macros
When you leave the calorie field blank, Gobblr works it out as 4 kcal per gram of protein, 4 per gram of carbohydrate and 9 per gram of fat. Those are the Atwater general factors, set out in Food Energy: Methods of Analysis and Conversion Factors (FAO Food and Nutrition Paper 77, 2003). A calorie figure you enter yourself is never overwritten.
How a meal earns a label
High Protein is 20 g or more of protein, High Fat 20 g or more of fat, Low Carb 15 g or less of carbohydrate, and High Fibre 6 g or more of fibre, all per serving. Those cutoffs are Gobblr's own, kept round so they are easy to check by eye. They follow the idea of a nutrient content claim rather than any one country's legal definition, which varies by region and by serving size.
Not medical advice
Gobblr is a meal planner. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition, and nothing in it is personalised to you. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before changing what you eat for a medical reason, and follow their advice over anything shown here.

It helps to say which device you are on, which version of iOS it is running, and what you were doing when the problem appeared.
